16x16 cutout from the 1950s-60s. The original Wisconsin markers were triangles, but someone realized that the design wouldn't work for numbers above 19 real well...so a box was added for the route number....the basic design is still used today, but it looks a lot different

This was made for me at the MDDOT shop from a scrap sign that was off-inventory (the sign itself was still good, just something about the base sheet that was not quite to standard) Dont try this yourself, that was a one-off job...but it will count for now as it has the MD style (but in truth, if i had been thinking, i would have asked for I-895 (tunnel route through Baltimore)

Secondary marker. This was the primary marker for decades until Tennessee adopted the state map a few years ago. These signs now mark secondary routes, but there are a few examples still out there with the "TENN" beneath the number, relics from the days when the triangle was the primary marker

This was a replica sign i made for myself back in 1992-3....Mike Summa thought it looked very authentic but for two minor details...the 4s are off a slight bit, and US shields had beaded glass, not sheeting. But if i put it on a road, it was good enough to fool a driver
